We hope you’re enjoying a wonderful Labor Day weekend. As the unofficial start of fall, it’s the perfect time to dig into our routines and focus on well-being. We are excited to kick off the season with you at the Sunnyside Health & Wellness Festival this coming Saturday!
Join us at Chaffee Park on September 6th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a morning dedicated to celebrating health in all its forms—physical, mental, and community connection.
Celebrating Our Community's Heritage: As we enter this new season, we also look forward to National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15), a time to honor the vibrant cultures and immense contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. We celebrate this heritage as an essential part of the diversity that profoundly shaped our neighborhood.

🧘♀️ Move Your Body: Live Demo Schedule
Find your flow and get inspired with live demonstrations on the main stage!
9:30 AM: Start your day with a gentle, low-impact movement session led by Tori Renwick.
10:15 AM: Discover powerful wellness strategies in a coaching session with Erin from Fortitude & Flourish.
10:45 AM: Wind down the morning with a refreshing class from our friends at Better Buzz Yoga.

Beyond the demos, we have a park full of adventure waiting for you. Get ready for:
A massive 30-foot tall climbing wall for all skill levels.
A fun and educational bike rodeo for the kids.
A special guest appearance by Wilder from Generation Wild!

SUNI is gearing up for a spooky season in the neighborhood!
Start dusting off your decorations for our annual Halloween Housing Decorating Contest! Registration opens on October 1st and ends at midnight on October 23rd. Voting will close on November 2nd and the top three winners will receive gift cards to their favorite Sunnyside business.
Mark your calendars for a day of Fall festivities on Saturday, October 25th. The fun will begin with pumpkin painting at Cherry Bean from 10 am to 12 pm, followed by a pet costume parade around Chaffee Park, with awards announced at Monkey Barrel. The first 20 furry participants will receive goodie bags with items from local pet businesses!

Effective May 22, 2025 Doing new construction or an addition on a single-family, duplex, or townhome? Your trade Quick Permit now hinges on having the main Residential Construction Permit in hand first. Linking the permits lets contractors pull up shared plans and keeps inspections in sync. The City Planning Department is exploring updates to Denver’s zoning code to promote climate‑resilient landscaping—yards and green spaces that use less water, thrive during drought, reduce urban heat, and support pollinators.

Trevista Falcon Families and artist Anthony Garcia are hosting a weekend of community painting. Detours will be posted, but residents can still reach their homes. Volunteer sign-up and exact schedule coming soon.
