Every where we look, we see neighbors growing sunflowers! Send us pictures of your sunflowers and we'll post them online! You can email your pictures to

"I saw your request for sunflower pics in our recent SUNI newsletter. There are probably better groves of sunflowers than mine, but the story behind mine might help their cause. One of the alley dumpsters for my street is right behind my house. I get so frustrated - people leave it open, throw away things that should be recycled, etc... When an eroneous tire was left, I decided to combat my frustration with the dumpster in a positive way. I planted sunflower seeds (sunflowers are my favorite flower). That was May. They are just about to be in full bloom now. And I can't help but smile when I take my garbage out...despite the tire."

"My daughter Celia received sunflower seeds for her 4th birthday from her Grandpa in Connecticut. She planted them this spring and has been taking good care of them all summer! We are now enjoying their beautiful flowers in our back yard in Sunnyside."
